We spent the weekend at our home in Quogue, a little village within the Hamptons and very close proximity to Westhampton. This is our home away from home. At this time of the year, the roads are still empty and there is still ice on the ground.
In about 3 months, Memorial Day to be exact, traffic will be insane and Simon's Beach Bakery will have a line out the door as it always does in the Summer.
At each Simon's visit (which is often in the summer) we indulge in a bialy, muffin and croissants at Simon's. They make, hands down, the BEST Whole Grain Blueberry, Raspberry Muffin. This muffin is unbelievably moist and filled with oats and whole grains. Every bite of it is pure heaven.
Another favorite is their bialy. Not heavy, not bland, and has a great flavor. This is best toasted with plain old Philly Cream Cheese or Salted butter. Yummmy delight.
Buttery plain and chocolate croissants also take one of the top spots. I always try to buy a few of these quickly as they seem to run out very fast.
Did I forget that they also bake one of the best strawberry shortcakes? Out of this world yummy. It's no wonder there is always a line out the door at 8am.
Some evenings in the summer, they also have a live band. So while you're strolling down Main Street in Westhampton, stop by Simon's and enjoy a snack and a dance.
